Castelnuovo Garfagnana - <strong>pezzenTeam </strong>has started the 2008 season with a great overall result at the end of the "Rally del Ciocco", first round of the Manu-Factory CIIR 2008.

Having at least one driver in the top three of the classes A8, N4 and A6, <strong>pezzenTeam </strong>scored 35 points, 4 more than FGA Corse team.

The duel between the two crew has been the main theme of the whole rally, won by Zelio Gregorietti (A8) in front of Stefano Cornachin (A8) and Marco <strong>Braga </strong>(A8). The <strong>pezzenTeam </strong>driver finished just 1"54 behind Cornachin after 12 special stages. Fifth place for Simone <strong>Ferrari </strong>(A8) who was leading the rally till SS5 and was able to won two scratches.

A stunning performance was made by Piero <strong>Albertella </strong>(A6), sixth overall and winner of the A6 class. A real domination from the Turin driver, with nine scratches won.

Also Paolo <strong>Ghibaudo </strong>(N4) was able to take some points for the championship with his eighth place. He finished second in the class, just behind Emanuele Denna, but he was able to win two stages.

Fourteenth overall place, third in the A6 class, for Luca <strong>Giraldi</strong>, that was able to take another podium after the 2007 Targa Florio. In the same class, the retire prevent Valerio <strong>Vailetti </strong>to get a possible podium. The driver from Sanremo was able to show very interesting performances and will be a strong competitor in the champs he's taking part.

Unlucky debut for Sergio <strong>Marini </strong>in the A5 class. Due to technical problems, he wasn't able to start the rally at the wheel of his Peugeot 106 Rallye.

Next 2008 Manu-Factory CIIR rally will be the "Rally San Marino", scheduled for the 26th February.
